James joined the legendary acting company of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival at 23 years old, performing in multiple productions of Shakespeare’s plays in over a thousand individual performances, after which he was invited to join the Emmy award winning cast of NBC’s Frasier for their final three seasons. James then began to move consistently into film, working opposite Christian Bale in Rescue Dawn, directed by Werner Herzog and as a lead in Showtime’s Our Fathers opposite Christopher Plummer, Ellen Burstyn and Brian Dennehy. James Executive Produced and performed the lead role in the award winning short film “Lucy” which earned him the Best Actor prize at the 2022 Mammoth Film festival. He worked closely with actor Sarah Carter to develop his role in her directorial debut “In Her Name” which took home the Audience Award at the 2022 Tribeca film festival. Also in 2022, James co-founded Defifilm.studios as a producer, writer and actor leveraging decentralized financing, crypto currencies and blockchain distribution to bring filmmaking into the future.

Defifilm.studios has a six feature slate in development, each project a  roadmap to help the coming generations navigate the complex challenges of the world ahead while maintaining human connectedness.
